Doane College has confirmed in a press release that Jim Weeks is no longer the head basketball coach at the school.
“We wish Coach Weeks the best in his future endeavors and thank him for the dedication and leadership he provided the young men in our basketball program” Athletic Director Jill McCartney said.
Weeks had been at the helm since 2012 and finishes his tenure with a 53-67 record. His best season came in 2012-13 when he led his squad to a 21-10 finish which tied the schools all-time mark for single season victories.
Before coming to Doane, he was a very successful high school coach in Nebraska. He owns a career record of 441-152 (24-seasons) included state titles in 1998, 2005 and 2008, three runner-up finishes and 13 trips to the state semifinals.
Assistant coach Ian McKeithen will serve as the interim head coach while the search commences.
