Following up on a report from earlier this week, it’s now been made official that Brian Nigro is no longer the head basketball coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent (NY). Thomas (“TJ”) Tibbs, Jr. was appointed interim Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Tibbs has spent the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach Men’s Basketball Coach at Baruch College and previously served as Director of Basketball Operations at Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). No reason has been given for Nigro’s departure. He had been the head coach at Mount Saint Vincent since 2008 where he had compiled a 97-125, including a 4-13 mark so far this season.

It also appears that no assistant coaches from Nigro’s staff have been retained.

In addition to the moves on the men’s basketball side, Laura Pruitt will no longer serve as Director of Athletics and Recreation and Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

CMSV had postponed their game vs. Maritime College earlier this week, and will return to action on Saturday when they host Mount Saint Mary College.
