Earlier today I mentioned in my blog that there was some news coming from Henderson State – here it is…
The Henderson State Athletics Department has announced that the contract of Reddie Men’s Basketball Coach Doug Nichols will not be renewed.
Nichols has spent four seasons as head coach of the Reddies and compiled a 55-56 record.
This season, Henderson State finished with an 11-15 record overall and an 8-12 record in the Great American Conference. The team finished ninth in the league standings and failed to reach the GAC Tournament.
"I appreciate the effort and dedication Coach Nichols provided during his tenure as our men’s basketball coach," said Henderson State Director of Athletics Shawn Jones. "We thank him for his service to our program and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
A national search for Henderson’s next head men’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
