Following-up on something that I mentioned back on 8/4 (Daily Dirt). Bobby Jordan has officially been named as an assistant at Albany. Here’s the release from the school:
The University at Albany men’s basketball team welcomes Bobby Jordan to its staff. Jordan joins the program as an Assistant Coach, having most recently served at Saint Peter’s University.
“Bobby Jordan brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, energy, loyalty and experience to our program,” said Head Coach Dwayne Killings “Having been a head high school coach in both Philadelphia and IMG Academy and gaining experience as an assistant at Drexel, Wagner and Saint Peter’s, we are thrilled to have him lead and serve our young men. Bobby has earned the reputation as a great teacher and a tireless recruiter throughout the Northeast. We can’t wait to welcome Bobby, his wife Kate, and their beautiful daughters to the Capital Region.”
Jordan was named an Assistant Coach at Saint Peter’s this June before coming to UAlbany. Prior, he spent the last three seasons as an assistant under Bashir Mason at Wagner College. Following a playing career, he graduated from Drexel University in 2009 with a degree in sports management before joining the Dragons’ coaching staff for five years – two as an Operations Assistant, and three as an Assistant Coach. In addition, Jordan has also held head coaching rolls at IMG Academy and Girard College.
“My family and I are extremely excited to come to the Capital Region and UAlbany,” said Jordan. “I can’t wait to get to work with our student-athletes. Coach Killings’ vision both on and off the court at UAlbany is something truly special, and I am excited to join such a great staff.”
