Last week, HoopDirt.com reported that former Mercy College (NY) head coach Adam Parmenter would be named as an assistant at NYU (NYC DIII DIRT).  The hiring has now been made official.

Parmenter joins the Violets with a lengthy basketball resume, working most recently as the Head Coach at NCAA Division II Mercy College from 2010-14. He also served as the Associate Director of Alumni Relations during that four-year span.

Parmenter first arrived at the Dobbs Ferry, NY, campus as an assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 season and was elevated to Associate Head Coach for the 2009-10 season.

Prior to his stint with Mercy, Parmenter spent time as the Director of Development at Five-Star Basketball, Inc. Before that, he served as the Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach and Head Junior Varsity Basketball Coach at Fordham Prep. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Daniel Webster College.

“I’m excited to join a program with a tremendous history like NYU,” said Parmenter. “We have a phenomenal group of guys returning this year and it’s a tremendous opportunity to be a part of something special.”
