OFFICIAL: Vaughan resigns as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Dickinson State

We’ve been talking about this one for a few weeks (Daily Dirt- 7/21) – it’s now official. Here is the press release from Dickinson State announcing the resignation of head men’s basketball coach Josh Vaughan.

Blue Hawks men’s basketball coach Josh Vaughan has resigned his position at Dickinson State University. Vaughan has spent the last three years as the head coach after being hired in September of 2017.

Vaughan’s teams were 40-43 in his three years as Dickinson State. The team was North Star conference runner-up in 2018 and finished second in the North Star regular season in 2019.

“I want to thank Dickinson State University for giving me an opportunity to lead their men’s basketball program these last three years. DSU is full of wonderful people and my family and I will miss being a part of their community. I would also like to thank all of the staff and players, both current and past for their efforts on and off the floor. Once a Blue Hawk, always a Blue Hawk,” stated Josh Vaughan.

“We want to thank Coach Vaughan for leading our men’s basketball program for the last three years. We wish Josh and his family all the best in the future,” stated head coach Pete Stanton.

The athletic department has started a national search for the position and plan to have a new coach in place by August 10.
