OFFICIAL: Young to FSU

Mentioned this in today’s blog – it has now been made official…

Florida State basketball coach Leonard Hamilton has added Charlton Young, a veteran of more than 15 years as a coach on the Division I level and most recently the head coach at Georgia Southern, to his coaching staff. Young will immediately become involved in all phases of the Seminoles’ nationally respected program including game preparation, player development, recruiting and planning for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

Young comes to Florida State after four seasons as the head coach at Georgia Southern (2010-2013). During his tenure, he guided the Eagles to the first win in program history over an ACC team (Virginia Tech) and earned victories over perennial NCAA Tournament participants Davidson and Charleston during the 2013 season.

Young replaces Corey Williams on Hamilton’s staff; Williams was named the head coach at Stetson University on June 3, 2013.
