Oklahoma City University has selected Robbie Harman as its men’s basketball assistant coach.
Harman comes to the Stars after serving as assistant at his alma mater, Central Michigan, and Minnesota-Crookston.
While at Central Michigan, Harman served as administrative coach and basketball operations intern. He contributed to a Mid-American Conference regular-season championship team.
“I am very excited to add Coach Harman to our staff for this upcoming year,” said OCU coach Vinay Patel, who led the Stars to the NAIA Tournament in his first season. “He comes highly recommended and has a variety of experiences that will really benefit our program moving forward. He will be fantastic on the floor with the players and should do a tremendous job on the road recruiting.”
Harman played basketball professionally overseas in the Netherlands, gaining all-league honors. Harman had a successful collegiate career playing both basketball and baseball for the Chippewas. He led NCAA Division I and established the single-season program record with 105 3-pointers as a senior and set the program career mark with 233 3-pointers. Harman tallied 1,058 career points while picking up all-conference accolades for Central Michigan.
“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity Coach Patel has given me here at Oklahoma City University,” Harman said. “The success of the program as a whole is something I am really excited to be part of, and something I’m looking to help Coach Patel continue to build upon.”
From Traverse City, Mich., Harman graduated from Central Michigan in 2011 with a bachelor’s of applied arts degree in sport management.
