Oroszko Elevated to Associate Head Coach at American International College

American International College men’s basketball head coach Andy Burkholder announced that Chris Oroszko has been promoted to associate head coach, effective immediately, on Friday, January 3.

“I am extremely excited for Chris, as he has certainly earned the title of Associate Head Coach,” Burkholder said, adding that “Chris’s impact with our student athletes, both on the court and off, has been tremendous. His knowledge of the game and ability to build relationships, not only with our players but our entire campus community, has brought great value to our program. We are very fortunate to have Chris as a Yellow Jacket, and look forward to his continued successes.”

Oroszko joined the men’s basketball staff in 2013-14, and has assisted in all aspects of the program, including scouting and recruiting. In his tenure, he has helped to recruit and develop five Northeast-10 All-Conference selections, including First-Team All-Conference selection Bobby Harris and 2015 NE10 Championship MVP Cameron Dobbs.

“It’s an honor to be named Associate Head Coach of AIC Men’s Basketball. I’d like to thank Coach Andy Burkholder and our administration for their support and confidence. I’m grateful to have developed meaningful relationships with many great players and coaches during my tenure and look forward to continuing my work with the Yellow Jackets,” Oroszko said.

In Oroszko’s second season, the Yellow Jackets – projected to finish last in the NE10 – won the league title, defeating Saint Anselm College in the championship game. The team claimed the top seed in the NCAA East Regional for the first time that campaign.

The Yellow Jackets next tip off on January 4 in an NE10 matchup at Le Moyne College.
