Pacheco named Director of Basketball Operations at Cal State Fullerton

Cal State Fullerton Head Coach Dedrique Taylor has announced the addition of Tyler Pacheco to the men’s basketball coaching staff. Pacheco will serve as the director of basketball operations. 

“Tyler comes to our program highly regarded for his energy, efficiency and productivity,” Taylor said. “I think his youth may be one of his most important attributes, with his ability to relate to the guys, problem solve and his familiarity with some of the platforms that will continue helping us grow. I am excited to see his imprint on our program.”

Pacheco joins the Titans after a season at the University of Texas under Head Coach Rodney Terry. The Longhorns went 21-13 in Pacheco’s lone season in Austin, reaching the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. Texas earned the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region, defeating Colorado State before falling to Tennessee.

While at Texas, Pacheco was named to the 50 NXT UP Men’s Basketball Support Staff List by Silver Waves Media, identifying 50 support staff next up to receive Division I Assistant Coaching promotions.

Prior to Texas, Pacheco spent his summers assisting in NBA pre-draft and various skill development workouts, working with NBA players including Klay Thompson, Jalen Green, Benn Mathurin, AJ Johnson, PJ Washington, Cole Swider and Stanley Johnson.

A native of Fresno, California, Pacheco earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in communication with a minor in marketing at the University of Arizona. Pacheco played at Clovis East High School where he was a was a three-time letter-winner and team captain of the 2020 Division I Central Section Champions.
