The University of the Pacific has reassigned head men’s basketball coach Leonard Perry. The school released the following statement announcing the move:

Leonard Perry was reassigned today from his position as head men’s basketball coach to other duties at University of the Pacific.

Associate head coach Josh Newman will serve as interim head coach through the West Coast Conference tournament.

In his three seasons at Pacific, Perry went 25-69 (.309), including a 6-25 (0-16 WCC mark this past season). Perry originally arrived at Pacific prior to the 2016-17 season, hired as the associate head coach on Damon Stoudamire’s staff.

The coaching veteran has also served as the head coach at Idaho (2001-06), and worked as an assistant at Colorado State, Southern Miss, and Iowa State.
