Patten joins Carroll College Basketball staff

Carroll Men’s Basketball Head Coach Ryan Lundgren has announced the final addition to his 2023 coaching staff. Connor Patten will join the Saints on the sidelines in 2023 as an assistant on the Men’s Basketball Staff.

Connor Patten is a Utah native, who was born in Salt Lake City. He attended American Heritage South Jordan High School (now Anthem Preparatory Academy), before enrolling at and attending Utah Tech University, where he was a Men’s Basketball Student Manager under coach Jon Judkins.

“We are thrilled to welcome Connor and his wife, Kelsie, to Carroll College.” Said Lundgren “He comes to us from a highly successful program at Utah Tech, where he learned under a great coach in Jon Judkins.”

He received his Bachelors degree in Applied Sociology and finished his post-secondary studies with a certificate in Social Research Methods from Utah Tech.

Patten has served as a Head Coach of the Utah Special Olympics Basketball team in St George, Utah. He led his Special Olympics team to a gold medal in the south regional tournament, and bronze medal overall in the state of Utah.

While certainly no stranger to collegiate basketball, this is Patten’s first official stint as an Assistant Coach.

“…Connor’s work ethic and enthusiasm for the game is unmatched, and will be felt in our basketball program on a daily basis.”

Patten is joined by his wife, Kelsie, his son, Phillip (two years-old) and newborn daughter, Audrey.

The Fighting Saints have officially begun fall practices, and are hard at work in preparation for their opener on November 3 at Ottawa (Ariz.).
