Phillips III named Assistant Coach at NAIA Warner University

Warner University announces Larry Phillips III as an assistant coach for Men’s Basketball.
Larry Phillips III comes to Warner University from the University of West Georgia, after having spent the last two seasons under Head Coach Dave Moore as a student assistant.
In his first season, Larry helped the program to a 14-8 record in the 2020-2021 season, enabling the program to clinch a Division II National Tournament invitation. Prior to his time with the University of West Georgia Men’s Basketball Program. Larry’s tenure at Central High School located in Carrollton, Georgia, he served under Head Coach Kenny Edwards he was able to propel the program to a regional playoff invitation in the 2019-2020 season.
Larry Phillips III comes to Warner University skilled in the areas of Coaching, Player Development, and Academic Counseling as well as Creative Media.
Phillips III said, “Words cannot express gratitude towards Head Coach Sean Hanrahan and Warner University for granting me such an amazing opportunity! “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2. I look forward to making an impact on Warner University in their lives because life is bigger than sports. I aim to improve every student and faculty member to take Warner University to new heights! As an Assistant Coach under Sean Hanrahan, I aim to motivate every student-athlete within our program to become stronger in their faith and challenge themselves to take advantage of any opportunity presented. Lastly, I look forward to growing in my faith and expanding my mindset to create a stronger future for myself and those around me!”
Sean Hanrahan said, “I am really excited to add Coach Phillips onto our staff. He brings great energy and a relentless work ethic. The tutelage he received under Coach Moore is invaluable. He will be able to jump in right away an impact our guys on the court and as a follower of Christ.”
