Longwood Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ronnie Thomas announced the addition of Connor Piskin to the men’s basketball staff.
 
Piskin joins the Lancers as the Director of Basketball Operations.
 
“Connor embodies one of the core pillars of our program—humility—every single day,” Thomas said. “He is genuinely service-focused and approaches his work with a selfless mindset that puts the success of others first. He understands the saying ‘No job is to small.’ His commitment to serving those around him will be instrumental in helping guide our young men and our program to operate at a high level.”
 
The Illinois native comes to Longwood following a season on staff at Frank Phillips College in the junior college ranks.
 
“I am thrilled to join Coach Thomas, his coaching staff, the student-athletes and the Farmville community,” Piskin said. “I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. Coach Thomas has a mission and a standard set out for his program, and I can’t wait to work to serve towards that mission and standard every day.”
 
Prior to his time at Frank Phillips, Piskin served on the staff at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) from 2023-25. In his two seasons, SIUE won a total of 39 games along with a trip to the NCAA National Tournament.
 
In his final season on staff, SIUE had a record-breaking season. The Cougars won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship for the first time in team history, advanced to the NCAA National Tournament and set a program record for wins in the Division I era by going 22-12.
 
He also served as a student manager for men’s basketball from 2021-23 for SIUE as he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology.
 
Piskin began his foray into college basketball at Lincoln Land College as an undergraduate, where he served as a manager from 2019-21, prior to transferring to SIUE to finish his undergraduate degree. He also holds his master’s degree in higher education from SIUE.
