Rumors have been swirling about the future of St. John’s head coach Norm Roberts. With a 60-76 (23-52 Big East) overall record in four and 1/2 seasons and a 3-6 Big east record this year, critics have been calling for his dismissal. Apparently the players have gotten wind of this and have stepped up to support him. According to the New York Post, there is great support for Roberts in the locker room. If you read the quotes from St. John’s president, and barring a major melt down Father Donald J. Harrington, it would appear that Roberts will be safe. The Red Storm have also played all but 3 games with out their best player Anthony Mason, Jr.
I think that Roberts will get at least one more year to turn things around. It looks like he has started to right the ship.
