Randolph-Macon men’s head basketball coach Nathan Davis has announced the addition of Shawn Postiglione to the Yellow Jacket staff.
“I am excited to have Shawn join our program,” Davis said. “His experience as an assistant and his proven track record of success are valuable additions to our program. We are fortunate to have him as part of our basketball family.”
For the past four seasons, Postiglione has been an assistant coach at Christopher Newport. The Captains were 82-29 overall over the past four years and 41-13 in the Capital Athletic Conference.
CNU made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament over that time. The Captains went 23-5 overall and 12-0 in the CAC during the 2011-12 campaign. CNU won the CAC regular-season and tournament titles while advancing to the NCAA tourney.
In 2012-13, the Captains were 22-6 overall and 11-3 in the CAC. CNU again captured the CAC regular-season and tournament championships. The Captains reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his arrival in Newport News, Postiglione assisted Mike Deane for three seasons at Wagner. During his first season, the Seahawks posted a 23-8 mark and set a program record for victories in a season. He was also the team’s academic coordinator and they recorded the top GPA in the Northeast Conference in 2009-10.
Postiglione also spent one season at Lafayette as a student assistant.
A native of Staten Island, Postiglione earned a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Wagner.
