Prather Resigns as Head Coach at Millsaps College

Millsaps College Director of Athletics Justin LeBlanc has accepted the resignation of Millsaps men’s basketball head coach Michael Prather.

A national search for a new Millsaps men’s basketball head coach will begin immediately.

“We greatly appreciate Michael’s commitment to our student-athletes the past five seasons and are incredibly grateful for all he has done for our department,” said LeBlanc. “I can’t thank Michael enough for his time and energy spent leading the Majors and we all wish him all the best with his future endeavors.”

Prather coached Southern Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year Nicholas Ughovwa this past season.

He also guided an All-SAA Second Team selection and six All-SAA Honorable Mention student-athletes. From 2020-24, Prather also saw 23 of his Majors named to the SAA Academic Honor Roll.
