Presbyterian College men’s basketball Head Coach Gregg Nibert announced the hiring of Brooks Savage as assistant coach.

Savage replaces Quinton Ferrell, who left recently to become as assistant coach at The Citadel.

Savage comes to PC after a one year stint as an assistant coach at Northwest Florida State College. Aside from coaching, Savage was responsible for recruiting, scouting and player development. This past season the Red Raiders went 32-2 overall and were Region XIII and Panhandle Conference Champions. They also advanced to the NJCAA National Championship title game.

From 2010-11, Savage served as Coordinator of Video/Player Development for Tulane under Head Coach Ed Conroy. He was in charge of all video operations, as well as player development and opponent scouting.

Prior to his arrival in New Orleans, Savage, a 2008 graduate of Tennessee, spent two seasons (2008-10) as a graduate assistant for the Volunteers, earning his master’s degree in sports management in 2010. While at Tennessee, Savage saw the team combine for 49 wins and advance to the NCAA Elite eight in 2010.

Savage assisted in all aspects of the program, including player development and scouting.

A native of Columbia, S.C., Savage helped create the "OUTLIVE – Tennessee Fights to Beat Cancer" fundraising initiative. Inspired by Chris Lofton’s courageous and successful battle with cancer during the 2008 season, OUTLIVE raised money for cancer screenings and early diagnosis on behalf of the UT Medical Center and the UT Cancer Institute. The program raised close to $500,000 over three years.

During his days as an undergraduate at Tennessee, Savage acted as a student assistant for the Volunteers, while earning a bachelor’s degree in sport management.
