New Purchase head men’s basketball coach, Kyle Martin, in conjunction with Panther Athletic Director Chris Bisignano, have added Shiva Senthil to the program’s coaching staff, it was announced.

Senthil comes to Purchase after serving as an assistant coach at NAIA Michigan-Dearborn last season.

“I am excited to have coach Senthil on board; everyone I spoke with highly recommended him for the position because of his work ethic and character,” said Martin of his new top assistant. “Also, his championship experience with a great program in Hartwick will be invaluable to our team.”

Prior to Michigan-Dearborn, he played and coached at Hartwick College, and was a part of three NCAA Tournament teams; two as a player and one as a coach.

Senthil has extensive experience on the camp circuit, including time spent with Hoop Group, Hoop Mountain and the Gym Rat Basketball Challenge.

The new Panther assistant graduated Cum Laude from Hartwick College in 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Bisignano congratulated Senthil on his new appointment. “We are excited to have Kyle and Shiva leading our men’s program this season,” Bisignano said. “We are looking forward to watching the team under their guidance.”
