Quinnipiac Basketball Staff Update

Quinnipiac Men’s Basketball has announced the hiring of Nolan Meehan (Director of Player Development & Operations) and the promotion of Jeff Robinson (Assistant Coach), as revealed by Head Coach Tom Pecora.

Both Meehan and Robinson have been with the program since the 2022-23 season. Robinson previously served as Director of Operations, while Meehan was the Bobcats’ Graduate Assistant for each of the past two years.

Most recently, both Meehan and Robinson played a pivotal role in helping the Bobcats capture their first-ever MAAC regular season title in 2023-24. The program set a new record for total wins (24) last season, advancing to the CBI Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“We’re excited to add Nolan Meehan to our full-time staff here at Quinnipiac,” Pecora said. “Meehan has been with our program for two years already, and has executed essential day-to-day tasks that help us operate at a high level. We’re all looking forward to watching him transition to his new role as he helps us continue to compete for championships.”

“We’re also thrilled to announce Jeff Robinson‘s promotion to Assistant Coach,” Pecora said. “Robinson has excelled within many areas of the program so far during his time at Quinnipiac. His commitment to our success on and off the court is invaluable.”

Quinnipiac also announced addition of former Bobcat Umar Shannon (’14) to the coaching staff back in May. Shannon joins QU’s coaching staff ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending each of the last three years in the MAAC at Saint Peter’s University. He played out his final season of collegiate eligibility for the Bobcats in 2013-14, averaging 14.3 PPG, 2.3 APG, and 2.0 RPG.

Quinnipiac men’s basketball will begin its 2024-25 campaign on Monday, Nov. 4 at in-state rival Yale. The Bobcats’ home opener will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7 vs. WPI at M&T Bank Arena.
