Repay promoted to Associate Head Coach at Florida College

Jesse Repay has been promoted to associate head coach of the Florida College men’s basketball program.

Repay, the Ogden Dunes, Ind. native, is entering his third season at Florida College. The Falcons just finished off a record-breaking 31-4 season. They won the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. FC defeated Evangel in the 1st round, winning the first national tournament game in program history, before falling to the eventual national champion Loyola-New Orleans Wolfpack. Repay leads the strength and conditioning program for the Falcons.

In his first season at Florida College, the Falcons finished 14-12, posting their first winning season since becoming a full-time member of the NAIA (2018-19 season). Repay played a key role in the Falcons’ defensive improvements. The Falcons made major strides, allowing 74.5 points per game in SSAC play compared to 89.9 the year before.

Prior to coming to Florida College, Repay served as an assistant coach at Eastern Oregon University. He helped lead them to a 17-14 record in the 2019-20 season. Before EOU, Repay was the graduate assistant for the Tiffin University men’s basketball program in Tiffin, Ohio. In his lone season with the Dragons, he helped guide the team to multiple program bests in both offensive and defensive statistics. Previous to coaching at Tiffin, Repay served two seasons as an assistant for the Carroll College men’s basketball team in Helena, Montana. In his first season with the Saints, he helped guide the team to a 29-6 record, Frontier Conference regular-season and tournament champions, a number one seed in the NAIA Division I National Tournament, and an Elite Eight appearance. In his second year Repay was promoted to lead assistant where he helped guide the team to a 28-6 record, Frontier Conference regular-season and tournament champions, a number two seed in the NAIA Division I National Tournament, and a Final Sixteen Appearance. During his two seasons with Carroll College, the Saints finished in the top ten on the court and in the classroom with a team GPA of 3.35. The Saints also had a 100% eligibility and graduation rate over those two seasons.

“I am so proud of this program and how far it has come since the day Coach Teichmann took over,” said Repay. “I’m extremely happy and humbled to be a small piece of the Florida College men’s basketball program and I can’t thank Coach Teichmann and the Florida College community enough for welcoming me in with open arms.”

He went on to say, “Words cannot express how thankful I am to receive this promotion. I owe it all to my wife, Jenny, our players, Coach Teichmann, and my family. We have some lofty goals in our future and I’m pumped to be able to continue helping put this program in the best position to reach those goals.”

“Coach Repay has worked extremely hard since joining our staff,” said Head Coach Chase Teichmann. “He puts everything he has into our team. He’s done a great job with our guys in the weight room and holds them accountable on the practice floor and in the classroom. He’s immensely deserving of this promotion. We are thankful and lucky to have him.”
