Kevin Scarbinsky from the Birmingham News (AL) reported that he has inside knowledge that Alabama is interested in Oliver Purnell as their next basketball coach.

However, in response to this article, Purnell said that he has not been contacted by UA, and does not plan to go anywhere.

In my opinion, Purnell stays put and Alabama chooses between UAB’s Mike Davis (a former UA standout), Missouri’s Mike Anderson (an Alabama native), and VCU’s Anthony Grant (a former SEC assistant at Florida with a National Championship ring).
