According to a report by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Alabama State head coach Mo Williams will become the new head coach at Jackson State. He would replace Wayne Brent, who is retiring at the end of the season.
Williams, who had 14-year NBA career, including an NBA Championship season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, went 14-35 (.286) in his two seasons at ASU. This past season, his team went 10-21 (8-10 SWAC). Before being hired at Alabama State, he spent two seasons as an assistant at Cal State Northridge.
Brent has been the head coach at JSU for the past nine seasons (117-155 -.430). The finished 11-18 (9-9) SWAC in 2021-22.
