According to a report from AZCentral, Bobby Hurley is expected to return for his 11th season as head basketball coach at Arizona State. Hurley, 53, has one year left on his contract and holds a 168-148 (.532) record at ASU. The team’s postseason performance has been disappointing, with only three NCAA appearances and no advancement past the first round.

ASU’s most notable season under Hurley was 2017-18 when the team started 12-0 and reached a No. 3 national ranking but struggled in Pac-12 play. Recently, ASU has had two of its worst seasons, finishing 13-18 in 2023-24 and 4-16 in its first year in the Big 12. The team faced personnel challenges, including injuries and the dismissal of leading scorer B.J. Freeman.
