According to multiple reports, including one from Jon Rothstein, Ball State is zeroing in on hiring SMU associate head coach Chris Capko as their new head basketball coach.

Capko has worked under Andy Enfield at both SMU and USC, and has also been an assistant at FIU, Stetson, and Georgia Southern.

SMU was KO’d by Miami (OH) last night, so seems like this one is now moving quickly.

Capko would replace Michael Lewis, who was dismissed back on March 7th.
