According to a TWEET by Jon Rothstein, Boston College assistant Chris Markwood will become the next head coach at Maine.
Markwood is a Maine native who was the 2000 Maine Gatorade Player of the Year at South Portland HS. Last season was his first at BC after stints as an assistant at Northeastern and Vermont. He began his coaching career at Maine where he spent five seasons after his graduation from Notre Dame.
Other names mentioned for this job were former Albany head coach WIll Brown, Colby head coach Damien Strahorn, former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown (a Maine native), and Black Bears interim head coach Jai Steadman.
