REPORT: Billmeier set to become new Head Coach at NJIT

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

According to multiple reports, including one from Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press, NJIT is expected to hire Maryland assistant Grant Billmeier as their new head men’s basketball coach. HoopDirt.com mentioned Billmeier as a candidate here back on 3/28 (DAILY DIRT).

Billmeier followed Kevin Willard from Seton Hall to Maryland last spring after 11-seasons together at Seton Hall. The New Jersey native, who played at St. Pats and Seton Hall, also spent one season as an assistant at FDU.

He would replace Brian Kennedy who resigned at NJIT back on March 7th after seven seasons as the Highlanders head coach.

More on this one when it becomes official.
