According to a report by HBCU Gameday, Howard will name Columbia assistant Kenny Blakeney as their new head basketball coach. Blakeney is a D.C. native (DeMatha) who played at Duke in the early 1990’s.

He was hired as an assistant at Columbia prior to this past season. Blakeney has also worked at Harvard, Delaware, Saint Bonaventure, and James Madison.
