REPORT: Brown set to name Stanford’s Reveno as new Head Basketball Coach

According toa Pete Thamel report, Brown intends to hire Stanford Associate Head Coach / General Manager Eric Reveno as their new head basketball coach. Reveno would replace Mike Martin, who departed to become an assistant at Michigan a few weeks ago.

Reveno, a Stanford alum, was in his second stint with the Cardinal. He had previously served under Mike Montgomery and Trent Johnson from 1997-2006.

Reveno also spent 10 seasons as the head coach at Portland from 2006-16, where he amassed 140 victories and four postseason appearances. He was named as the The West Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2009. The Pilots averaged 20 wins a season from 2008-10, including back-to-back third place finishes in the WCC.

The coaching veteran has also had stops as an assistant at both Georgia tech and Oregon State.

Reveno will become the 4th Ivy League head coach who has worked for current Stanford head coach / former Columbia head coach Kyle Smith, joining Jon Jaques (Cornell) Kevin Hovde (Columbia) and Brett MacConnell (Dartmouth).

More on this move once it becomes official.
