According to a Jon Rothstein post, FAMU is expected to hire Charlie Ward as their head men’s basketball coach.
The school’s Board of Trustees has a 3pm ET meeting on Wednesday, and there’s a contract approval for a new men’s basketball coach on the agenda. Ward, the 1993 Heisman winner at Florida State, played over a decade in the NBA, mostly with the Knicks, and wrapped up his career with stops in San Antonio and Houston.
Ward would replace Patrick Crarey, who departed for Grambling last week after just one season on the job.
More on this move once it becomes official.
