According to a report by Jeff Hartsell, The Citadel is working on a deal with former head coach Ed Conroy to bring him back to Charleston.

Conroy has been a target here from the start, as HoopDirt.com first mentioned him here back on 3/11 (DAILY DIRT).

Conroy is currently an assistant Vanderbilt and was the head coach at The Citadel from 2006-10. He also spent time as the head coach at Tulane (2010-14), and an assistant at Minnesota, Tennessee, Tulsa, Coastal Carolina, VMI, NC State, and Furman.

The Citadel has only won 20-games twice in the history of the program, and one of those times was on Conroy’s watch in 2008-09.

The timing now makes sense here, as Vandy’s season ended in the NIT last night with a 75-73 loss at Xavier.
