According to the Providence Journal, Providence College has reached an agreement in principle to hire Fairfield’s Ed Cooley as its next basketball coach. Cooley, who is a Providence native, is expected to be introduced in the next few days. We’ll pass along the official release when we get it.

Providence has officially hired Ed Cooley. See the press release below. Cooley will be formally introduced at a news conference on Wednesday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the College’s Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
