This move has been floating around out there since yesterday – looks like it’s becoming closer to reality. Jon Rothstein is now reporting that Doug Gottlieb is finalizing a deal to become the next head men’s basketball coach at Wisconsin Green Bay.
Gottlieb played at both Notre Dame (1995-96) and Oklahoma State (1997-2000). He led the nation in total assists twice during his time at OSU, and was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection his senior year with the Cowboys. Following his graduation, he played professionally overseas from 2000-2003.
Gottlieb has been in broadcasting since his playing career ended, most recently serving as the host of the The Doug Gottlieb Show on FoxSports radio. He has also coached the USA team in the Maccabiah Games in 2009, 2017, and 2022. The 48-yr old has not coached at the college level before.
More on this once it becomes official.
