According to a report this morning by the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida State will announce today that head men’s basketball coach Leonard Hamilton and FSU have agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $11.25 million in guaranteed money, retroactive to when his previous contract expired in April 2020.
According to the report, Hamilton’s previous contract originally expired last year but continued at the same rate on a month-by-month basis until the extension was agreed to.
The 72-year old Hamilton currently has the Seminoles at 14-4 and in first place in the ACC (10-3). Last season, Hamilton led FSU to their first-ever ACC regular season men’s basketball championship – a feat they will most likely repeat this year.
