According to a report from the Field of 68, Hampton University is expected to name Georgetown associate head coach Ivan Thomas as their next head basketball coach. Thomas would replace Buck Joyner, who was fired earlier this week.

Thomas, a Norfolk, Virginia native, had been on Ed Cooley’s staff for 8 seasons at Providence before making the move to Georgetown with him last spring.

Prior to his time at PC, Thomas served as a head high school basketball coach in Virginia, as an AAU coach for the Boo Williams 17U Team for 13 years.
