The tough day in the Bay area continues…Multiple reports including CBSSports and ESPN are reporting that Stanford has fired head coach Johnny Dawkins. This news comes on the heals of the announcement earlier that Cal assistant Yann Hufnagel will be terminated for violating the University’s sexual harassment policy.
Dawkins, a former standout at Duke, had been the head coach of the Cardinal for the past seven years. His group finished 15-15 (8-10) this season and he wraps up his run at Stanford with a 156-115.
Stanford now becomes the third Bay Area job to open – San Francisco and Santa Clara opened last week.
More on this when it becomes official.
