It was a nice OT win for Will Wade last night at Florida. However, today hasn’t been so kind for the second-year LSU coach.
According to a report just published by Yahoo Sports, A 2017 phone conversation intercepted by the FBI between Wade and basketball middleman Christian Dawkins features Wade speaking freely about a “strong-ass offer” he made in the recruitment of a prospect.
The conversation appears to surround the recruitment of current LSU freshman guard Javonte Smart, and an offer that was made to him.
Part of the report reads, “The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit,” Wade continued. “It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”
Not good for Wade who has already been informed that the feds plan to subpoena him for the April 22 federal corruption trial.
