Earlier today in the Daily Dirt, I mentioned Rice head coach Mike Rhoades as an early contender for VCU. It looks like things moved quickly here, as Gary Parrish is the first to report that this is a done deal. Rhoades, a former assistant under Shaka Smart at VCU just wrapped up his third season with the Owls. After back-to-back 12-20 seasons, Rhoades squad went 23-12 this season with a post season trip to the CBI. Before becoming an assistant at VCU, he had a ton of success at DIII Randolph-Macon College (VA) where he went 197-76 in ten seasons. More on this story when it becomes official.
