REPORT: Penn State Head Coach Pat Chambers will return for 2017-18 season

According to a report by StateCollege.com, Penn State AD Sandy Barbour has confirmed that head basketball coach Pat Chambers will return for the 2017-18 season.

“Pat’s our coach and is going to continue to be our coach next year,” Barbour told StateCollege.com on Sunday afternoon. “Pat and I will meet at the end of the season, as we do every year, to continue discussing how we can best provide support to the success of the program moving forward, but this week our focus is on helping the team prepare for the Big Ten Tournament.”

Chambers contract is slated to run through the 2018-19 season following an extension that he received back in 2015.

The Nittany Lions are currently 14-17 (6-12 Big Ten), and riding a 5-game losing streak as they prepare for the conference tournament this week. In his nearly six full seasons at Penn State, Chambers has compiled a 86-108 record.
