According to a Jon Rothstein Tweet, Pepperdine has parted ways with Head Basketball Coach Lorenzo Romar.
Romar took over at Pepperdine in 2018 after a fifteen year run as the head coach at Washington. This was his second stint at Pepperdine, having previously served as the Waves head coach from 1996-99. Romar has spent 27 seasons as a D1 head coach, also having worked for three seasons as the bench boss at St. Louis (1999-02). He owns an overall career mark of 466-396 (.541), including a 12-19 (5-11 WCC) mark this season.
Pepperdine would be the second West Coast Conference job to open this week, as Pacific “reassigned” Leonard Perry yesterday.
More on this one once it becomes official.
