REPORT: Radford Head Coach Nichols charged with DUI

According to a report this morning from the Roanoke Times, Radford head men’s basketball coach Darris Nichols was arrested last Sunday night and charged with driving under the influence.

The report states that “Nichols, 36, was booked into the New River Valley Regional Jail at 11:41 p.m. Sunday after being arrested in Radford, according to jail records. He was released early Monday.”

Details of the arrest were not immediately available. There has not been a statement issued yet by Nichols or Radford.

Nichols was hired at Radford back in 2021 after spending six seasons as an assistant at Florida. His team is currently 17-12 (11-5 Big South), and scheduled to play at High Point tomorrow.
