Sam Scholl is out as the head basketball coach at the University of San Diego, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Scholl had been the head coach at USD since 2018, where he went 50-67 (.427). This season, he led the Toreros to a 15-16 (7-9 WCC) record.
The San Diego alum spent seven seasons on the USD staff after graduation, then moved on to Santa Clara as an assistant for eight years.
An official announcement is expected later tonight.
