According to a Jon Rothstein report, UNCW head basketball coach Takayo Siddle has signed a new five-year contract.

Under Siddle’s leadership, the Seahawks have gone 26–5 (15–3 CAA) this season and earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament. In his six seasons at UNCW, he’s gone 132-52 (.717), including 5 straight seasons of 21+ wins.

Siddle has piloted UNCW to the CAA Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth last season. He also led the Seahawks to their first road win over a ranked opponent in school history at No. 12 Kentucky on Dec. 2, 2023, in Rupp Arena. UNCW also captured the 2022 College Basketball Invitational Championship and advanced to CAA championship games in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
