REPORT: Texas fires Rodney Terry

According to an ESPN / Jeff Borzello report, Texas has fired head basketball coach Rodney Terry.

Terry took over as Texas’ head coach midseason in 2022-23, leading the Longhorns to a Big 12 tournament title and an Elite Eight run before earning a five-year contract. Previously, he spent nine seasons as a Texas assistant under Rick Barnes, helping the team reach the 2003 Final Four, and later served as head coach at Fresno State and UTEP. After guiding Texas to NCAA tournament appearances in his two full seasons, the team struggled in 2023-24, finishing 19-16 overall and exiting in the First Four against Xavier.

More on this once it becomes official.
