We’ve been following this one for a few days. Now, multiple sources, including the Daily Hampshire Gazette are confirming that UMass head coach Matt McCall has fired all three of his assistant coaches. This rumor first surfaced at the A-10 Tournament, and now has been made a reality.
Associate head coach Cliff Warren, assistant coaches Rasheen Davis, and Peter Gash have all been with McCall since he took over back in 2017.
Warren is the former head coach at Jacksonville University, and worked as an assistant at Maryland before coming to UMass. Davis had been an assistant at VCU, Xavier, and Manhattan, and also served in administrative spots at Louisville and Pitt. Gash had worked with McCall at Chattanooga, Florida, and Florida Atlantic.
UMass finished this past season with an 11-21 (4-14 A-10) record. McCall is now 24-41 in his two seasons with the Minutemen.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
