REPORT: Valpo set to hire Gonzaga assistant as new Head Basketball Coach

According to a report from Pete Thamel, Valparaiso is expected to name Gonzaga assistant Roger Powell as their new head basketball coach.

Powell has been on Mark Few’s staff for the past four years, and been a part of a program that has gone 121-13 during that time. Prior to that, he worked for Bryce Drew at both Vanderbilt and Valpo. During his five years at Valpo, the Beacons (then known as the Crusaders) won 122 games, including a school record 30 during the 2015-16 season.

More on this one when it becomes official.
