I have now confirmed from two separate sources close to the situation that Rhode Island College will name Robert Morris assistant Mike Byrnes as their next head coach. He will replace Bob Walsh who departed earlier this spring to become the head coach at Maine. A Wednesday press conference has been scheduled.

Before joining the RMU staff four years ago, Byrnes served as the long-time head coach at The Winchendon School (MA). He compiled a 404-131 record during his 14 seasons at the New England prep school. More on this after it becomes official on Wednesday.
