RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andy Toole has announced the addition of Keith Oddo as an assistant coach.
Oddo comes to Moon Township after spending two seasons at IU Indy. During his time with the Jaguars, the team achieved its highest win total since the 2018-2019 season. He worked extensively with two of the Horizon League’s top 10 scorers in guards Paul Zilinskas and Jarvis Walker. Zilinskas finished 2024-25 third in the HL in scoring with 18.2 points per game and was third in 3-pointers made and 3-pointer percentage. Walker was seventh in the HL with 15.8 points per game last season. He also played a key role in the recruitment and development of DeSean Goode, a three-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week honoree and All-Freshman Team selection who transferred to RMU this spring.
Prior to IU Indy, Oddo served two seasons at Bridgewater College (Va.), where he was promoted to Lead Assistant Coach in Spring 2022. He was instrumental in improving the Eagles’ defense, significantly reducing opponents’ points per game and field goal percentage in his second year. The 2022-23 team had its highest Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) finish since 2009. Oddo’s work with point guard Shod Smith led to Smith earning All-ODAC Second Team honors, ranking second in the league in assists and steals, and previously being named ODAC Rookie of the Year. He also helped Alec Topper achieve back-to-back All-Conference honors, a program first.
Oddo’s diverse experience also includes a stint as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Akron, where he contributed to player development and worked closely with 2024 NBA Draft pick Enrique Freeman. In the summer of 2021, he gained NBA experience as a Summer League Team Assistant with the Brooklyn Nets. He is a driving force behind “The Ville,” Louisville’s entry into The Basketball Tournament (TBT), featuring former University of Louisville standouts, where he currently remains an assistant coach.
A former collegiate player himself, Oddo played his final season at Louisville in 2019-20, where the Cardinals achieved a 24-7 record and a No. 1 national ranking. Before Louisville, he was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team at Richmond, earning a scholarship after starting as a walk-on.
Oddo earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in communication and history from Richmond and a master’s degree in sport science and coaching from Akron.
