RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andy Toole has announced the addition of George Aramide as an Assistant Coach.
“We are excited to add George to our coaching staff,” said Toole. “He has been a successful coach at the prep level as well as the college level. He has strong international experience as well which will only help our student-athletes maximize their experience as members of our basketball program. We are happy to add George and his family to the RMU family!”
Aramide (pronounced: Uh-rah-muh-dee) comes to RMU after spending last season at Fresno State.
Aramide spent two years on staff at Arizona State as an Assistant Coach, helping the Sun Devils earn an NCAA tournament bid in the 2022-23 season under Head Coach Bobby Hurley. ASU’s 23 wins tied for the fifth most in program history and were nine more than previous season.
Before entering the college ranks, Aramide coached at George Harris Preparatory High School in Mississauga, Ontario. His teams produced a pair of number one ranked players in Canada. Additionally, Aramide’s AAU program – Run N’ Dunk – won the Canadian National Invitational Tournament in 2018.
Aramide was born in London, England, attended Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia and played professionally in Spain.
