Roberts out as Head Basketball Coach at D2 Purdue Northwest

Purdue University Northwest Director of Athletics, Rick Costello, has announced a change in leadership for the men’s basketball program.

“I want to thank Boomer Roberts for his leadership, dedication and service throughout his time at Purdue Northwest coaching the men’s basketball program,” said Costello. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Roberts served as the Purdue Northwest Men’s Basketball head coach for seven seasons and coached several All-GLIAC First Team selections that included Vincent Miszkiewicz, Mikell Cooper, and Brendan Temple (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County). During his time in Hammond, Roberts coached the Pride to three GLIAC Tournament appearances in 2020-21, 2022-23, and 2023-24. In the 2023-24 season, Roberts and his team set the mark for most wins in a season as an NCAA Division II program.

A nationwide search for the next PNW Men’s Basketball head coach will begin immediately.
